August 23, 2019

Tonight, the members of the Lineboro Volunteer Fire Department took delivery of a new, up-fitted 2019 Chevy Tahoe which will be designated as Life Support 7.

The vehicle, purchased from i.g. Burton Fleet Services of Milford, DE, comes from Chevrolet with the manufacturer’s Special Service Package which includes features and upgrades including 4WD, Max Trailering, a high output alternator, and a premium suspension system.

Once the vehicle was received from the dealership, it needed to be have graphics applied as well as an emergency vehicle warning package and interior upgrade equipment installed. Shannon-Baum Signs of Sykesville, MD outfitted the vehicle with a vinyl, black-over-red color scheme and a graphics package that matches the Department’s Tanker 7. Once the graphics were applied, the vehicle was sent to 10-8 Emergency Vehicle Services of New Holland, PA. Here, the vehicle was outfitted with a custom, all-LED emergency lighting package that is designed to optimize visibility of the vehicle from all four sides. On the interior of the vehicle, a Truck Vault custom equipment cabinet was installed in the cargo area, and a custom center console was installed between the front seats.

Life Support 7, also recognized in York County, PA as Medic 7, operates as a medical support response unit, providing additional personnel and equipment on calls for emergency medical and fire and rescue services, and is capable of upgrading basic life support ambulances in Carroll and York Counties. It is capable of providing advanced life support care and is equipped with a cardiac monitor/defibrillator and a wide variety of emergency medications and equipment.

This new vehicle replaces a 2001 Chevy Tahoe, which was donated to the Blackberry Volunteer Fire Department in Ransom, KY. The new Life Support 7 is anticipated to go in service in the upcoming week. For further information contact Matthew Burgan, Captain of EMS, at 410-365-2610 or by e-mail at mburgan@lineborovfd.org.
